Box plot

Does a blank revision change the wait?

Queue hours before machining. Confirmed median 3, blank median 13. Each box runs from the lower quarter to the upper quarter. Whiskers run to the shortest and longest lot. 061218243Rev confirmed13Rev blankHours
Two boxes for queue hours. Confirmed median 3 hours. Blank median 13 hours.
How this sheet sits with the others

When the revision is confirmed before release, the queue median is 3 hours. When the traveler revision is blank, the median is 13 hours. Blank revisions wait much longer. This is the same fact as the 12 minutes of walking, seen as delay rather than as cycle time. The boxes do not test the cause.

What it makes visible
Queue hours when the rev was confirmed before release, beside queue hours when the traveler rev was blank.
When it is useful
When a blank field on the traveler might be the same fact as a longer wait.
Who uses it
Mara Ellison at release, and Devon Cho waiting at cell 2.
What it takes
The two queues: rev confirmed before release, and rev blank on the traveler.
What it leaves
A confirmed median of 3 hours and a blank median of 13 hours. Not a tested cause.
The underlying record
Hours of queue before machining when Mara Ellison has confirmed the rev, and hours when the traveler rev is blank, are the wait the value stream and the unchecked-release scatter are also looking at.
